I know it's early (I generally disapprove of Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving_), but we got a really good snow here in Madison and I am feeling Christmas-y. I got to sleep in and I am super relaxed and enjoying the feel of the new-snow-reflected-light, so I want to share a light and fluffy list of five things I would like for Christmas.
(Disclaimer: This is a silly list. My family makes lists, because we like to hunt gifts down for each other, but sometimes it's hard to discover what someone actually wants or needs. We only share them if someone is having a hard time finding something!)
1. Gjetost/Brunost Cheese
There was an article last year about burning cheese in a tunnel in Europe. As a Wisconsinite, I will love cheese forever and ever. I did some research, and this cheese sounds AMAZING! Caramel-y, soft, and full of wonder == is anyone surprised that my mouth has been watering ever since?
2. Glass Travel Tumbler for Tea
No, not an interactive web community full of gifs and joy! A gorgeous glass container for delicious drinks, complete with strainer so I don't get leaves in my teeth!
Much like I love cheese, I love tea, a lot. (But not quite as much as cheese. Cheese will always be my first love.) I drink tea most mornings and my collection has inspired awe in my friend, who is a British exchange student. I find I have been drinking more and more loose-leaf, when I can afford it/when someone has given it to me. Thus, I need a glass tea tumbler with a built in strainer! Marvel in its stylish, minimalist glory!
3. Loose Leaf Tea
To go with my tumbler, of course! I usually include a range of flavors and prices, because some of this stuff gets mega-pricey, but plenty of it is affordable for teenagers who need to find gifts in a lower budget. My brothers generally know that they can buy me just about any tea and I'll be happy, but they have been remarkably thoughtful when it comes to flavors in recent years. Last year, my middle brother bought me Harney and Sons' Pomegranate Oolong and Peach Ginger.
Top flavors on my wish list:
4. A Food Processor
There are just some recipes I want to make that need/would be significantly easier if I had a food processor. I don't need anything fancy — I just want one so I can make coconut chicken curry in my crock pot!
5. Tetris Lights!
This is the silliest thing on my list, and I don't think I will ever possess it, but I am tickled pink by the general idea of these lights! Stacking Tetris blocks that light up when you touch them together? SO AWESOME. DO WANT.
So, those are my top 5 Christmas gift wishes. What are yours? Do you veer toward the practical/low cost gifts, or do you dream big?
