I have an indoor cat, and I've noticed that one of his, I guess, peak activity times is between like 3 and 7 a.m. He's not always up and running around at this time, but it seems like he has been a lot recently. Unfortunately, my girlfriend is a light sleeper, and the cat's running around has been keeping her up at night, and if she's awake, then I'm probably awake too. I'm not sure of what to do. We live in a studio apartment, so we don't exactly have a bedroom door to shut when he's making a racket. Putting him in the bathroom used to be pretty effective, but he's perfected a way of scratching at the bathroom door to make the maximum amount of noise, which is even more irritating than him moving around the apartment. I've considered transitioning him to being an indoor-outdoor cat and letting him go outside at night, but I know that requires a few extra shots from the vet, and I don't have the money for that right now. Is there anything I can do? I can't speak for my girlfriend, but I know that I've been on edge lately because of the lack of sleep, plus I feel really guilty because he's MY cat, so I feel responsible for his noise-making.
