With Peter Sagal from "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" And it's great. Seriously, I love it.

If you don't know, Nerdette is a great podcast about nerdy stuff with a feminist slant, hosted by Greta Johnsen and Tricia Bobeda. They have awesome guests and give homework and talk about great female nerds of history and generally nerd out about this and are wonderful. Listen to it.

They had Peter Sagal as a guest a while back, and they discovered that Tricia, Greta, and Peter all share a love of Game of Thrones and that Peter has no one to talk to about it. Sad. Poor, poor, Peter; they won't let him talk about Game of Thrones on his own show any more.

So they are doing special Nerdette episodes that are simply talking about Game of Thrones. They did a first episode that was basically a general explanation of the show, some book comparisons, backstory and setting up, and the second episode was their recap and discussion of the first episode of season five. They have, so far, had pretty good discussions, have decided they need to keep a racks and butts tally (duh), have briefly talked about THAT Jaime/Cersei scene from last season, and generally been awesome.

They are able to critique with love, which is something we always need. No show or property is perfect, and we can love things without loving everything about them. Peter is especially prone to making "Well, in the books....." comments, and I know that some people who only watch the show find that sort of thing grating, but when they do it, they don't usually make value judgments, they simply say that this thing or that was different and it gives the discussion some more context.

But these recaps are anything but spoiler free, so don't go looking if you haven't watched and don't want to be spoiled.

And, y'all. I sent them a comment after the first episode, and they read it at the end of the second. (I demanded that they do this for Orphan Black as well.) People I don't know who do stuff I like think I'm adorable.
