Welcome To The Bitchery

No Prison Time For Rapist,Version 2.0.--And This Time It's Worse

You'd think with all the backlash that occured after shitty Montana judge Todd Baugh let rapey creep high school teacher Stacey Rambold off with a shitty 30 days in jail for raping his 14-year-old student (after she committed suicide), some in the legal community might just have sat up and taken notice.Maybe they all got together at the annual Law Peeps Convention And Expo 2013 and said 'Hey! Probably not the best idea to reduce the sentences of people who've raped young victims. There might be some fucking backlash to that. Maybe that's not the best thing to do, in the name of justice.'

Nope!

This horrifying story about a youth pastor in Iowa who raped young boys to 'cure them of homosexuality,' proves that lessons are not being learned. Evil human being Brent Girouex, 31, was arrested on 60 counts of "suspicion of sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist." So far, he's confessed to raping four boys, but more have come forward.

And it gets so much worse:

You would think Girouex’s crimes would send him to prison for the rest of his life. Outrageously, that’s not the case. The judge in the case sentenced Girouex to 17 years in prison last week, and then immediately suspended the sentence in favor of sex offender treatment and five years probation. All Girouex has to do is avoid violating his probation and he’ll NEVER spend a single minute in a prison cell.

Not. One. Single. Day.

I'm too angry to think about this. I'll let the blogger at Addicting Info say it for me:

"..[The] judicial system has once again failed to do its job to protect the community and give justice to the victims. This kind of “punishment” only encourages rapists and pedophiles. Because courts are not taking rape and pedophilia seriously, more women and children are likely to be violated because the consequences of committing such crimes are slim to none. It’s just another sign of the worsening rape culture that has been running rampant in America.

But before we all succomb to a rage gif frenzy, remember that in the Montana case, the sentencing was overturned, by the judge himself. AFTER a massive outpouring of protest.

So, this occurred in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I think it's time to track down who is responsible for this and send a message that this is unacceptable. Let's write emails, make phone calls and put pressure on their court system to try again. For real. There is no way a person who has stolen the lives of so many young children should get this kind of sentence. Sorry.
