One of my co-workers just got back from a meeting at the White House and they told him some of the first day's numbers.

  • 2.8 million unique visits to healthcare.gov today.*
  • One person started calling at 12:05am this morning trying to enroll into the marketplaces and kept calling until she could enroll. She's never been able to get insurance before.

Thought you all might enjoy!

*Healthcare.gov is where people in states that chose to have the federal government run their marketplaces would go to enroll. A lot of the most heavily populated states (CA, NY, etc) are running their own exchanges, which have separate websites. This figure wouldn't include their numbers. It also doesn't include people who enrolled by phone.
