He filmed himself raping an almost unconscious girl, and texted the video to friends saying it was rape. He then lied to the girl saying he hadn’t filmed it and wasn’t sharing it with anyone (and then continued to share the video for months).
Wow. Doesn’t every “good” family have boys like this?
But the judge knows better:
He also said the young man came from a good family, attended an excellent school, had terrific grades and was an Eagle scout. Prosecutors, the judge said, should have explained to the girl and her family that pressing charges would destroy the boy’s life.
So he denied prosecutors’ motion to try the 16-year-old as an adult. “He is clearly a candidate for not just college but probably for a good college,” Judge James Troiano of Superior Court said last year in a two-hour decision while sitting in Monmouth County.
Thankfully the appeals court smacked him down hard. So the boy will be tried as an adult and will hopefully attend the college of Jail Forever U.
But I wonder how many other cases the guy has presided over where justice was denied because he’s a misogynistic asshat.
