Because I have no attention span or patience for learning things. And, when I try, I get easily frustrated and throw those things.
I decided I need to step away from the computer and get my hands in something. I sketch a lot, but I felt like I need to work with a medium other than digital.
Screen printing is my absolute favorite form of printing so I thought I'd give it a try at home. Did a Google search, turns out you CAN do it at home. So, I order a few books and a kit.
One night, I cozy up in the bathtub and read one of the books.
WTF, who knew this shit was so complicated??
Then I get my kit. It's like half the size of me. It has lots of parts. I am overwhelmed and stick it in a corner.
I also ordered a little gold leafing kit because I had gotten some nice stock of black and kraft paper and I love gold foiling and leafing on black. I have looked at countless tutorials online and for the most part they all look...not good.
I JUST WANT TO BE AN EXPERT AT ALL THINGS NOW.
I don't even know my point in writing this. Do I want folks to commiserate? Yes. Do I want people to tell me about their experiences screen printing? YES PLEASE. Mostly I think I just wanted to whine.
