It’s been a long while since I updated you about the kittens! I think 2 months is an OK time at their ages now, but GT could always use some more kittens right meow.
So Nyx (approx 6 months) and Freya (approx 8 months) are growing like weeds!
Freya has had the body of a teenage/adult cat since we got her, so it’s been fun to see her grow out and up a bit. She’s still long and lanky, but I don’t think that will ever change. She is a much pickier wet food eater and may actually prefer the dry food. We lucked out with this one. She’s the most laid back cat I’ve ever seen. She continues to be a huge cuddle monster and her purr doesn’t stop. Ever. It’s stuck in the ‘on’ position.
Nyx has been starting to look more and more like a teenage cat than a kitten lately. Her face is still petite and very cute, but she’s growing into a cat :( She has become much more attached over the past few months. She wants her cuddle time and she won’t accept anything less. She enjoys laying on my boob shelf/neck or across me when I’m laying down. She was so incessant yesterday morning to get into the bedroom with BellaFella and I that we had to put a suitcase in front of the door to keep it shut (it doesn’t latch). She kept banging on it so she could get in. Granted, she hadn’t seen
me in a few days at that point. She ended up sleeping on me for an hour or two. She knows her name and comes when called most of the time, it’s hilarious. She’s much less of a picky eater than Freya, but doesn’t enjoy lamb (so we found out.... and Freya devoured, go figure).
Overall, they have a blast running around the house, having cat fights, watching ‘their fish’, causing trouble, dragging my shirt or his underwear to random places and generally being good kitties. We lucked out with 2 great kittens with great personalities. They still stay in ‘their room’ part of the time so we don’t have to worry about them out in the house, but they got a ton of time roaming.
We switched to Arm & Hammer corn-based litter and it is a game changer. We love it. So much lighter, keeps the odor down so much better and even clumps better! We’re sticking with it after this trial run because it’s so much nicer to scoop the boxes now.
Onward with more kitty pics, since I know that’s what you’re here for!
