I have a weird question for my fellow parents: How often do you bathe your kids?

Growing up, baths were not part of the daily schedule. My hair was washed once a week, and I got an extra bath if I got grubby that day. Since I was fairly bookish and didn't care for tumbling around in the grass, this didn't happen too often.

That's what I've done with my kids: Until puberty sets in, a kid gets a hair wash once a week, and an extra bath if they're smelly or grubby. Even as babies, I did mostly washcloth baths because holy shit, did my kids hate the bath until they were toddlers. They both preferred not being completely naked at any time.

Speaking to my friends who have kids, though, I've gotten the impression that I'm, um, below the normal average. I haven't asked directly, but from the way they phrase things, baths appear to be a nightly thing. Some appear to wash their kids hair nearly every day, too.

I'd like to take a moment to say that no one has ever said that my kids were grubby, and I'm around some people that would totally bring that kind of thing up. Maybe my kids just don't get as dirty as some kids?

So, how often do you other parents wash your younger children? How often does everyone remember getting baths when they were growing up?
