I'm coming out of my grad school imposed sabbatical to beg your help, GT. My husband's family lost someone recently, and I have been tapped to suggest some poems for inclusion in the memorial service. And I am coming up complete empty. Slightly unfortunate, because it is my area of study, so I'm turning to you for help. I think I'm in a bit of a forest for the trees situation. Can you help?

Do you have any good poems for a situation such as this? The death was not unexpected, and comes after a long illness. The family would appreciate something sombre, and probably something more on the traditional end of things. As much as I would love it, I don't think ee cummings is the appropriate selection for this one.

I would spend the evening digging into this myself, but I have a pile of marking and reading to get done, and this task is weighing heavy on me - I will feel guilty if I leave it much longer, but am in very real danger of missing some deadlines if I give it all my time right now. If you can make any suggestions, it would be so, so appreciated.
