So, the attack of the killer fleas is still underway at my mother's house. We are officially desperate now. Can't afford the exterminator, and it turned out my grandmother actually doesn't have a dehumidifier we can borrow. So we've been vacuuming, steam cleaning and doing laundry non stop. But my kitties were being eaten alive.

So I went to Petsmart and got some generic flea medicine. I read the label and this stuff is crazy toxic. Basically, it says if they eat it, they will die. So I applied it according to the directions (I hope? they were really vague). It's like a liquid that you use a dropper to apply to the back of their heads/necks. I did that, and it says to not let them touch it, but I really can't think of any way to do that. They were trying to scratch it with their paws, but it looked like they couldn't quite reach the spot where I applied it. At least that's what I hope, because obviously they lick their paws after grooming. You know what I mean?

And now I have to go to bed because I have to be up at the crack of dawn to train for my new job. They're downstairs in the basement, and I'm just terrified that I will go down there in the morning and they'll be dead from licking the flea stuff. Anybody had this problem before? I'm so worried about my kitties.

-Update- Apparently the brand I used on them, Bio Spot, has been linked to many cat deaths. I'm sick to my stomach right now. I'm so upset. I love my cats so much. I rushed down to check on them and they seem fine, and the product is oily so I can't think of any way to get it off them. But I need to sleep, I'm scheduled for ten hours of training starting at 8 am :(
