Poetry Time! Let's Share Some Poetry

So I like the idea of everybody sharing a little of their own poetry, or if not their own, perhaps a favorite. I know there are other poets hanging around, and I thought this would be a fun way to share a little with each other and discuss writing. Does that sound cool to everybody? I hope so.

So I'll start, I guess. Here's one of my poems. Chime in with comments and your own poems, please! I'll be posting these every now and again when it strikes my fancy.

Nephilim

Bury the funeral seed and give it time—
till the earth and keep it well
only in darkness,
for it nourishes itself
with decay.

Care for the funeral seed in its flesh-home
as it builds a new body,
yew white and pine thick,
the first of fingers to come
to surface.

Watch for the funeral seed clawing the sky;
her sanguineous scars show,
bleeding and hazy,
tears: the silent weeping of
the heavens.

Take fear from the funeral tree looming large,
a pale hand reaching up,
giant and rising,
a corpse to dominate and
roam the earth.

Edit - changed the poem because Kinja can't handle hemistiches.
