What’s your go to budgeting method for everyday things and/or saving for specific items?

I’ve been pretty happy with the envelope method (except, you know, digital because I don’t live in the dark ages). I also have some money automatically pulled into a couple of investment accounts straight from my paycheck, so I never actually see that money except for the once maybe every 6 months I check the balance and I don’t count it in my budgeting as income.

I also have all of my money from working overtime socked away in its own special spot, so that it can go towards things I want since my basic needs are covered by my regular pay.

Just curious what you’ve found that works best for you.
