Tomorrow I will be starting a 1700 mile journey across the country, with my mother.
3 days, in a car, alone with my mother.
Oh look, there goes that gif again: (aww, look at Rick, so dramatic)
Anyways, we had already planned on taking this journey later in the month, but it got pushed forward, because my grandpa, who we were going to see, passed away.
I was never close to the man (I'm really not close to any of my extended family), but I know my mom is probably going to be taking it hard (she calls her mom, and her sister, every week). Hopefully her ability to cope (or lack thereof) won't make our relationship any more "contentious" than it already is.
Anyone have any tips on how to make this go as smoothly as possible? Or how to deal with judgy relatives?
