So I've been undergoing infertility treatments and my doctor has me on prenatal vitamins in case they, you know, work. I never really took multivitamins in adulthood, so this was a change of pace for me.
Guys. They leave me so damn constipated. Like, so badly I actually feel ill. So badly they feel like the worst menstrual cramps ever. Literal pain and nausea result. I have never been this backed up in my life. I am in actual physical distress here.
My husband's theory is that it's the iron in there. So here's the question - I get plenty of iron in my daily diet, I think. I eat lots of spinach and red meat. So, could I get away with taking prenatal vitamins sans iron? Do they even make such things?
Anyone who's taken prenatal vitamins - absent a "without iron" option, do you have any recommendations for brands that don't wreak havoc on one's digestive system? I feel like I can't be the only person in the world with this problem.
The internet and doctors all seem to say just get plenty of exercise, drink lots of fluid, and take lots of fiber. I ALREADY DO ALL OF THESE THINGS. Ugh. Help me Groupthink. You're my only hope.
