Prepare your Sad Trombones

because, if the queasy bloated feeling and thunderous gas is anything to go by, I can no longer eat macaroni and cheese. I make it once in a while as a treat for the little bird and always have a bit, but this has happened the last few times. I've suspected for a few months now that I may be losing my tolerance for lactose. I don't actually consume much dairy - I switched to almond milk a while ago - but I'm not sure how to deal with the loss of my one true love, cheese, other than by gnashing my teeth and shaking my fists at the heavens.


Has this happened to anyone else - suddenly being lactose intolerant later in life (I'm 33)? How do you deal?
