I'm supposed to be working on this:

In brief, I'm putting together a brief presentation for my medieval Spanish literature class on the "mito de la perdida de Espana" - the myth of Spain's fall, particularly about the texts which cropped up to support the myth.

For those who don't know, in 711 el Rey Rodrigo (last of the Gothic kings) was killed and the majority of Iberia was under Muslim rule to various degrees until 1492. I plan to start off with a brief overview of more modern texts in keeping with the myth that the Muslims conquered "Spain" and that in 1492 Spain re-emerged in continuation of what was before (in reality there was no "Spain" before, but it was a great propaganda point), leading up to its significance in a post 9/11 and post 3/11 renewal of interest in the subject of the Reconquista in the face of a Muslim "threat" to Spanish culture.

I'm giving my professor an overview of what I'll be talking about for the rest of the presentation tomorrow afternoon, but I really don't want to work on it right now. I'd rather be playing Pokemon, or watching 30 Rock.

So instead, let's have fun with funny gifs. They'll keep me occupied until tomorrow when I have to scramble and make myself be productive. I'll start us off with a story in two gifs and then some Lion King fan fiction:
