Hi! I have decided that I am going to read nonfiction about one of my favorite scifi topics: societal collapse. Can someone build me a reading list of sociology/archaeology/anthropology books? I'm a biologist so more technical sciencey stuff is okay - I'm looking to get outside my subject area a little bit and I do know a little about human population genetics already. I obviously picked up Jared Diamond from pop news but I've also heard he cherry picks his data. And on p2 of Collapse, he claimed that the US is one of the most powerful nations in the world. Which cracked me up.
Thank you! Please feel free to share far and wide - I'd love to see what the Kinja verse comes up with.
