Hi, all. This week, instead of a normal Lazy Sun. Lit. Talk, I thought I’d ask: Who’s your favorite political writer? Which pieces are most important in getting readers to think about resistance? Which texts are inspiring you to keep pushing forward?
As an English instructor, all I can think of this week is Orwell’s “Politics and the English Language.” He predicted “alternative facts” (and “enhanced interrogation techniques” and many more) 71 years ago.
How about you guys?
P.S. I am sorry to say, I’m not much up to running book club today, as promised. But please feel free to talk about Lady Audley’s Secret here, too. Did you like it?
