Trigger warning: discussion of rape in video, thus the poem's title, "Rape Poem to End All Rape Poems"
I wouldn't say this is the best poem on the subject I've seen, as there are some pretty kickass slam poetry performances out there that I suppose would fall into the (as the poets in this piece say) "rape poem trope," but it's still damn good. I thought some of you might enjoy it as well, because by the end, I was pretty much just like:
I know there are some flaws in it, things that I might have done differently, like maybe adding in a line somewhere near their "until 'no' really means 'no'" about how only "YES" means yes. Still, though, I liked it, and I'll admit, they gave me goosebumps (as so much slam poetry/spoken word does). I'd love to hear what some of you think! Any other good suggestions for some kickass poetry?
