Earlier a couple of us were discussing the fact that if Donald Trump becomes President, they will probably have to sit him down with some Schoolhouse Rock videos in order to teach him how government works. As a result I’ve had “I’m just a bill, I’m only a bill, sitting here on Capitol Hill” stuck in my head for most of the day. It’s been interrupted momentarily by “Conjunction Junction! What’s your function”.

This all sent me down the Schoolhouse Rock Wikipedia rabbithole. I found out why those are probably the first ones to pop into my head; when they did a 30th anniversary edition, they were voted #1 (Conjunction Junction) and #2 (I’m Just a Bill) respectively. While agree they are excellent, my top 3 would probably be:

  1. Interplanet Janet (officially #8)

2. Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla (officially #15)

3. Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, Get Your Adverbs Here (officially #3)

There were quite a few on that list I hadn’t heard of (or at least hadn’t heard in a long time, so I don’t remember), so I guess I know how I’m spending my weekend.

Which songs would round out your Top 3 (or 5 or 27) list? What song do you think Trump should have to listen to first?
