Some of you may be familiar with the Vlogbrothers (and if not, go check them out too! They're wonderful!). One of the really great things that they do is help produce other YouTube channels and projects like The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (a vlog adaptation of Pride and Prejudice), Brain Scoop (a biology/natural history show), Crash Course (online courses for all ages covering topics like world history and chemistry), and most recently Sexplanations with Doctor Doe!
Sexplanations (produced by Hank Green) is a show done by clinical sexologist Lindsey Doe. It's only a month old, but it seems to be off to a great start. The whole point of the channel is to discuss and learn about everything relating to sex— from genitalia anatomy, to how to use protection, to discussions on gender/sexuality/orientation.
I like this woman a lot. She's funny and adorable, but still provides excellent information and is very clear about what she's talking about without dumbing anything down. The video above of her drawing/labeling all the parts of the vulva and then putting a bunch of different layers on herself to better show how a vulva works is just brilliant.
Again, so far we're only seven videos into the channel, but I'm looking forward to more. So if you feel you still need some sex education, like reading about sex education, or feel like you know someone who could use this information, pass it on! The content is absolutely appropriate for pre-teens and teens, and probably provides more information than whatever sex-ed classes they're taking in school.
