Context for people not in the US: San Francisco and neighboring cities (Oakland, Berkeley, etc.) have been Sanctuary Cities for decades. From an SF city website:

“The Sanctuary Ordinance generally prohibits City employees from using City funds or resources to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the enforcement of Federal immigration law unless such assistance is required by federal or state law.”

Basically, local police and and city workers are generally prohibited from helping them arrest and deport people based on the immigration status.

The Trump administration and ICE is retaliating by targeting us for immigration raids.
