Hey, I went to a mini feminist film festival held in Glasgow last weekend with a fellow Jezzie (HEY HEY SCOTLAND MEETUP) and saw this movie that I thought was worth sharing.

It’s googleable and streamable online.

Bottom line was that even though it was a 1983 movie projecting a post-socialist revolution NYC of 1993, it depicted the same fuck shit that intersectional feminism deals with now, in a really moving way.

It did have one big tw issue at the end, which I feel I should spoil, so here’s a spacer. Stop reading here if you don’t wish it spoiled, but read on if you are concerned about 9/11 triggers.

In the closing minutes of the movie, they depict the feminist advocacy group going full terrorist and placing a bomb atop the WTC. On any other day of the year, I’d have nodded to this as a historical movie feature that is in no way unique, but this showing was on Sept 11, which did not sit well with me. I lost neighbors that day. However, I doubt the organizers expected to have a New England emigrant in the audience. If you think this would be a problematic trigger for you, watch the movie anyway and turn it off 5 min before the end; that would serve.
