Look, I am ALL FOR making dietary changes that support proper mental health. Yes, certain amino acids are essential in the production of serotonin. However, this is NOT equivalent to how antidepressants/SSRI's work. Most people in the U.S. are not protein deficient and are therefore unlikely to be tryptophan deficient. You ingesting cashews is NOT the same as taking a medication that works directly on the serotonin availability in your brain.

Sigh. I don't feel like getting into a FB argument but since I work in psychiatry (psych NP) AND am a certified yoga teacher and well-versed in both Western medicine and integrative/complementary therapies this shit just pisses me off to no end.
