is coming to my university town tomorrow.
ANDREA MOTHERFUCKING GIBSON OKAY.
For those of you who may not know, Andrea Gibson is a queer slam poet and here's The Madness Vase (some foul language, might want headphones and tissues):
Basically, she's an enormous inspiration and her way with words is just phenomenal. The fact that she often focuses on gender norms, queer issues, and how people who are othered interface with modern society is something I relate to and appreciate, and the fact that she does it incredibly well makes me eighty different kinds of overjoyed to find out she'll be in the area.
It's been a rough week for a passel of reasons, and I had to end things with my now-ex whom I still love (long story, but it just isn't going anywhere good, sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do) and I found this out today. So I'm losing my shit because it's a good thing in a week packed with... weirdness.
On the flip side, grouped along with Andrea Gibson's coming to town in the "Things That Are Good" column, I ended a relationship that was had to end (it sucks, but at least I did it? So I suppose it should go in the positive column too?), I got over my weird sickness and got a new job! Yay! Thanks to everyone for being so supportive and for offering stories of terrible managers on my previous post re: fast food sucks.
