I applied to a couple of jobs in Boston, because that's where I'd like to move. I heard back from one today; the woman who e-mailed asked if I could call her soon.
Now I'm super nervous, GT. Is this going to be like a phone interview? I don't knoowww. Plus now I'm pretty sure I'll be going back to school next year, and I don't want to end up having to move twice (although ideally I'd be at school in Boston). On the other hand, this job would be better in terms of pay/benefits than doing freelance and working in the local bookstore, which is my current plan. And most of my friends are either in Boston or within an hour's drive, and my social life here is nonexistent. On the other other hand, they definitely wouldn't be paying for moving costs, and as I'm currently at my parents' I'm not paying rent. And Boston is expensive. So I'm not even 100% sure I could afford to do it.
I'm also getting way ahead of myself because I definitely don't have the job yet. But it's definitely heartening, in any event—this is the first response I've gotten that wasn't just "No thank you." Now I just have to get it together, think about what I want and what I'm going to say and what questions to ask, and then call, probably tomorrow morning.
