I'm tickled, even though it's just a small pool of paste in a Saran-wrap-covered bowl right now. It's live, not dry, and if things go well, it should bubble and come to life over the next three days. I have an old Jez-friend passing through NYC for dinner next Tuesday, I have dreams of serving her up some nice fresh-baked sourdough. I may be overly optimistic, but I figure if I feed it twice a day I can build up some mass in time.

We shall see, but I'm all aflutter tonight at my little pool of paste. Grow and flourish, little pool, grow and flourish!
