So for the niece's birthday party dessert potluck I made a Sticky Toffee Pudding, with this recipe.

I love sticky toffee pudding, and have been looking for an excuse to try my hand at one. It was a lot easier than I was expecting it to be somehow, and it was very tasty. It seemed to be well received. I made individual cakes in muffin tins, and then poured the sauce all over them in a 9X9 pan so as much sauce as possible could soak into the cake part.

My MiL brought a plate of mixed cookies and bars, my OSiL brought cupcakes, and my Annoying Inlaws, whose child the party was for, and were hosting, contributed no food. Just some tea.

Being at their house for the first time in a year, I have to say that had the crap not hit the fan and my ABiL lost his job, there is no way in hell they would have sold their place and moved any time soon. In addition to being extremely cluttered, their house has now taken on the scent of mildew. I thought I caught whiffs of it on the main floor, but then when I went down in the basement at one point, it positively reeked of mould.

Makes me wonder if my ASiL's frequent colds are actually a reaction to constantly breathing in mould spores? I'm sensitive to mould, and I had to get out of the basement in fairly short order, as it made me feel unwell.
