The Supreme Court is supposed to drop some decisions this morning. Let’s see what happens!
The first 2 decisions were on criminal sentencing and drunk driving/warrantless searching cases.
Here comes Fisher - the affirmative action case: 5th Circuit ruling upheld! :D
One more decision coming today, but Alito’s reading from his 50-page dissent on Fisher. Might be a while if he reads the whole thing. Majority (4-3) decision was 20 pages, by the way.
An immigration case: the blocking of Obama’s executive order on deferred-action immigration policy is left in place due to a 4-4 tie.
That’s it for today.
Chief Justice Roberts has announced that decisions on all remaining cases will be handed down on Monday.
late edit: somewhere in today’s biz was a decision on a tribal-courts issue. missed it completely.
