Hello everyone! I have posting privileges now and open to constructive criticism if you find this utterly boring or too much info at once. I am a tech person by day and a circus and burlesque performer the rest of the time and enjoy writing about my troupes and personal adventures on the stage and at events. Sometimes…
This weekend is D23, a huge celebration of all things Disney. Which now includes Star Wars and Marvel, thanks to the mighty age of corporate mega-mergers. So not surprisingly, the costumes at D23 are pretty damn stunning.
How early do you people start plotting your Halloween costumes?
I absolutely love Halloween! It's so much fun to see the kids all dressed up in their cool costumes! Also, it was pretty cool to walk in the grocery store and see the adults dressed up has well.
And they sum up all our feelings.
Costume and fun-wise?
It's October, which means I need to help my kids get their costumes together. Both of my daughters are really into Monster High, so they want to dress up as Monster High characters. My youngest wants to be Frankie, who looks like this.
It's no secret that female characters are portrayed in a different way than their male counterparts are in comic art. But in a medium where superhero costumes are already so silly, why do we care so much about how our lady heroes dress?
I just finished season 1! The amount of GoT actors on this show makes me giddy. There's Bronn of course and special appearances by Ser Jorah and Ser Berristan (so far!).
That's Regencyphile speak for trimming hats, for those of you who don't speak it. Look at what I have made today! We begin with this hideous $7.97 floppy special from Wal-Mart.
I'm perhaps a little late to the costume party, but I couldn't find my camera and my phone camera is all scratched up, so I had to wait to get pictures from a friend.
I'm Prince Jareth! The goblin king! My damn hair kept falling flat all night, but there you go. My bulge confused some catcallers last night, but it didn't confuse this girl I made out with at the bar!!! Mysterious dance club make outs FTW!
I just realized I never posted a photo of Terrance the Dog in his Halloween costume! PSF fail. Look how cute he is.
Not the best picture, will try to obtain more and update. BUT LOOKIT MY EYES. I was very pleased with this, and managed to paralyze a mini Darth Vader. Not pictured: awesome dagger.
Of course the Groupthink page would trim the main photo to just show my cleavage. HEY KINJA. MY EYES ARE UP HERE.
Remember how I said - HOLY CRAP I FOUND A MEN'S* NINJA TURTLE ONESIE AND IT'S MINE!!! And how a bunch of you were all "pics or it didn't happen!" WELL.
Ian Anderson the lead singer/flute player from Jethro Tull? Hey, Aqualung? This guy:
My costume from last Saturday:
I am not wearing this right now. I partied on Saturday night. But it was one of my best costumes. And it was a lot of fun. And super comfortable. Until I ripped hair out trying to get that bald cap off.
