I’m super proud of my Linux users group because not only did they adopt an anti-harassment policy ages ago, but at yesterday’s huge multiple tech meet up holiday party they posted it at the sign in tables and on various walls on the venue.
The internet is one of the world’s greatest inventions. It’s also sometimes used by some real jerks to do some pretty crappy stuff. If you’ve ever had to deal with online harassment, or are just worried you might, Speak Up & Stay Safe(r) teaches the basics of dealing with jerks online.
The people behind League of Legends has figured out a way to deal with harassment that generally works! It uses artificial intelligence to enforces the standards of the LoL community (as given by the community through a voting process) and collect hard numbers on who harasses, when, and how often they return to it.
