Hey, so I am going to cairo and I’m staying with a my friend at her parent’s house and I want to bring them a gift to say thank you for letting me stay there. So, you know how there are certain things, depending on the country, that are super expensive there due to laws and stuff, but super cheap in the US, therefore…
This is just going to be a little overview as to an expeirence I got to do this past Friday - if you don’t want to be spoiled about this museum don’t read on!
Hey fellow Groupthinkers. I’m hoping some of you fabulous, well traveled people can give me some advice.
So, I still have about 25 days of vacation left for this year. While I don’t have to take it all (I can carry as many days as I like into the next year), I am being gently pressured and want to take some time off (like 1-2 weeks) in August/September. I just don’t really know what to do. I’ll be on my own as Mr Krimi…
I’m at the airport. I will be in New York for a week before heading to Chicago. I don’t know what to do in New York though? My close friend lives there so I’ve visited many times and am running out of ‘obvious’ things. Does anyone familiar with New York have any ideas for things I might have missed?
UPDATE: thank you so much for all of your comments and advice! I’m really sorry that I ended up not replying to the comments, work took over. But I got my concert ticket (a good one too!) and I’ve booked the Palmer House Hilton in the Loop which was reasonably priced. It’s cancellable with no penalty so give me a…
A week and a half ago I posted about not knowing whether I’d get into Bolivia without already having a visa.
Today I’m taking off for Bogota! Leaving the house around 6 pm, have to get everything in order before I go, make sure I don’t take anything I don’t need and don’t leave anything I need, pay any bills that need paying before I go, etc.
So I have the trip of a lifetime coming up next week, 10 days in South America with my son. 6 days will be in Bolivia. I’ve been going my merry travel-preparing-ish way thinking that I will get a visa for Bolivia when I get there, that that’s standard procedure. Then I get a Lonely Planet guide and it says get one…
Is the year really almost half over??? Guess that means it’s time to start making holiday plans. Usually I wait too long to do this, but especially since Christmas/New Year’s fall on a weekend this year I figure it’s probably important to book early.
Salut mes copines Canadiennes!
On a related note, does anybody want to host me?
Hi all! I’m planning my honeymoon (YAY!) and I’m hoping to return to Belize with my beau. I studied abroad there in college and so I’m looking into both new and old contacts to make our trip a success.
So! Tomorrow I’m heading up to Atlanta for a two-day training session. I’ll be staying and attending the classes not actually in the city, but to the northeast - near Emory, I gather. I’m not sure I’ll be super into driving around a bunch of interstates that look like someone threw a bucket of spaghetti at a wall…
My best friend convinced me to fly down to Houston next week to visit our friend. We are going to have to entertain ourselves for two days while she’s at work. Do you good, kind people have any recommendations on what to see/do/taste in the area? We are history nerds, so we already plan on visiting some historic homes.
Soooo. I am going to be traveling to LA in May and for part of the trip we will be staying in hotel (downtown—whatever that means) that my bf's job is paying for and for the other part, I am looking at Airbnb. The problem is, since neither of us has ever been to LA, we don't really know the various neighborhoods. I…
Hello hivemind. I haven't posted much lately, and I wanted to let you guys know that a) you're still the best, all of you, tied for number one and b) I'm still around.
Some of us are sick of staring at the snow and turning up the thermostat. Let's escape to our own private island with this collection of desktop wallpapers.
If you're flying over the holidays, you might be concerned about catching something from your fellow passengers. Planes do tend to have plenty of germ hot spots, but you can protect yourself with some basic health tactics.
I got an alert email saying that my schedule has changed—but with no actual details and nothing on Amtrak.com. I guess I appreciate the super early notice that something is going to happen at some point before Thanksgiving?
