I am getting a cold. I have been fighting it with my most powerful weapon: homemade chicken stock.
When I chop up vegetables for any purpose, I save the leftover ends and bits and whatnots (not seeds and stems, tho) and pop 'em in the freezer. Then, when I have a chicken frame, I take all those ugly veggie bits and turn it all into stock. I put it up in pint jars and freeze it.
I have been so grateful for my stock stash these past few days, as it's all I want when I feel stuffy and sore-throaty and head-woozy. Tonight, I added leftover chicken bits, garlic, and a lot of leeks. Mmmm, leeks.
