The Dutch Aids foundation created this brilliant new webshop. (All the products in the webshop are in English!) In it they sell the cures to many first world problems, such as ‘Hearing the tv while eating chips’, ‘Matching socks’ and ‘Perfectly timed jokes’.
What do they do with the money? Get HIV medication to people who need it but can’t afford it.
I thought this was quite a clever way of getting people to give money to a good cause. By supposedly curing common and recognisable 1st world problems and appealing to the sense to ‘want to do good’ they manage to circumvent the possible heavy and serious vibe surrounding donating money and make it a fun experience. Win for everyone involved.
(I haven’t fully researched how much of the money goes to the cause, I’ll still have to look into that)
