Apparently (according to a good-natured conversation I just had with coworkers) Mr L and I are way too cheap for our own good since we have a single  10 year old car for the two of us, despite the fact that we could afford to replace it and get another one just for me. I laughed and argued that we were just thrifty and retirement-focused, but it got me thinking. What would you say is the difference between thrifty and cheap? Which label describes you best (assuming one does)?

Btw, I totally do acknowledge that I am definitely cheap. Aside from travelling and my cats, I will go to insane lengths to avoid replacing things or spending money in other ways.
