As someone who has had the privilege of knowing many brilliant SBC alums, this news makes me feel a bit sad. However, I'm also not personally a huge fan of single-sex education, and I wonder if the college's closing speaks to a sea change in the world of higher Ed. SBC was, in many ways, a conservative Southern college (although obviously "conservative" doesn't describe the entire student body). Are traditionally conservative attitudes towards single-sex education broadening?
And to any SBC alums on GT, my deepest sympathies as I know this is probably sad news.
