Finally, I know I've seen this problem come up more than once on GT.
Sometimes you want to buy something you see, but you're not sure where it's sold. A quick Google image search can help, but this won't necessarily tell you where the item can be purchased. The Hunt is a website that aims to solve this problem.
The website is community-based, so users help you find what you're looking for. It's mostly fashion-focused, but there are some home goods and random items on the site, too. Just register, then "start a hunt." You submit a photo, screenshot, or link and wait for other members to show you where you can buy the item directly.
When you start a hunt, you can specify whether you're looking for an exact match or something similar. The "something similar" feature is handy in that it also lets you set a maximum price you're willing to pay. For example, let's say you want a cheaper version of an expensive top you see on a celebrity. Users will help you hunt it down at your specified price point.
You can register with your email address or Facebook. Right now their security policy is a bit vague:
ShopTap cares about the integrity and security of our users' information, and we take reasonable measures to protect that information. We cannot, however, guarantee the integrity or security of your information or that it will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
