At first, it’s just a lovely bit of film noir. Lots of shadows and shades and what not...stuff I love! And then Bette Davis is accused of...murder! What’s interesting about the next hour of the film is that it goes back and forth between woman being accused due to patriarchal sexism and white lady being protected because of racism, which is suuuper interesting. I can’t recommend this movie highly enough and it’s one I’d never even heard of before.
