The most Toronto Thing this week;
I have had Joel at my house on more than one occasion to remove raccoons from various places that they crawled into to make nests. In one case, it was a nest of newborns. Gates Wildlife puts the babies in a heated box which keeps them warm until the mother can relocate them to a secondary nest. Joel is built like a football player (a big, muscular guy), and that particular removal involved crawling under my back addition (the one I had renovated a couple of years ago), so there is a crawlspace about 4 ft high. He removed the kits, placed them in the warming box, and risked confrontation with an irate raccoon mother.
