I’m at the shore with my grandmother, Aunt A, and Aunt B. Aunt B is mentally disabled, but is capable of walking to and from places by herself if she knows the way. This evening she wanted to walk down the boardwalk to the closest set of shops and away she went. A half hour after she was supposed to be back, out Aunt A and myself went looking for her, with grandmother holding down the fort at the house. Aunt A took the car and I power walked along the boardwalk, stopping at people/shops that I thought she might have interacted with. Finally I got the call from Aunt A that she was located.

On the way back to the house, Aunt B had gotten disoriented in the dark and walked too far on the boardwalk. Thankfully she found a police officer who got her set up in the back of the squad car and was driving along the streets very slowly. Aunt A saw the car creeping along and flagged him down. All is well. And then on my walk back, I got disoriented and walked too far on the boardwalk. Thankfully, I had a phone with GPS and knew the address.

And now I’m back, chilling, with a cold beverage. Oh what a night!
