I don’t even know what to make of this article. I know money doesn’t buy happiness, and I’m sure rich people have plenty of valid issues that therapy can help with. But comparing the discrimination for being rich to the discrimination of minorities who fear for their lives, not to mention describing “coming out to people about their wealth is similar to coming out of the closet as gay” is just plain insulting. There’s just no way around it.

I’m not in the camp of throwing rocks at rich people simply because they are rich, but the tonedeafness of the article astounding. Wealth is an option, an option very few of us will ever get to have. If it’s this much of a problem, live a modest life and either give it all away or pretend that pile of money doesn’t exist. But I’m not going to be playing a tiny violin for the person in the $26m condo. Not unless they pay me for it.
