This post yesterday reminded me of a book that did indeed change my life, and it made me want to know if any of you have a life-changer book also? It could be a memoir, self-help, novel - something that you read that really resonated with you and helped you understand yourself and/or this insane world? Tell me about it!
Mine is called Party of One: The Loner's Manifesto by Anneli Rufus, and it's all about introversion. For much of my life, I just figured something was wrong with me. I was the girl who always gravitated to the quiet room with a book, who loved my family and friends but found them so exhausting. The person who couldn't understand how solitary confinement could possibly be considered a punishment. (I know, I know, it's a serious issue. You know what I mean.) I never understood that being introverted was just a way of being, and that it didn't mean I dislike people or am antisocial or shy. It just means that being around people drains my energy, and being alone recharges me, and I'm happiest and healthiest when I get enough solitude. This book helped me with all of this.
What's your life-changing book?
