Welp, I'm alone at home and the door bell rings unexpectedly. It's my FiL, who has nicely just cut the grass since we, being 1st time home owners, don't have a lawn mower just yet. But, since I wasn't expecting anyone I am not dressed and in my not-so-huge-and-fluffy bathrobe. We chatted for a few minutes but we were both visibly uncomfortable. He interjects that he told my husband he would stop by to do it - would have been more helpful if someone told ME, since I'm the one who is home (husband is traveling for work), but why bother with logic, you know?
This is not the first time in recent weeks that this type of stuff has gone down. A little over a week ago I get a call from the MiL but I wasn't home. She wanted to "help" (we're still unpacking and doing a lot of reno work ourselves) and said it was fine if I wasn't there, she was going to just let herself in and do some cleaning. *sigh* I feel like a brat, because they are really just trying to be helpful and doing nice things, but I'm worried about the boundaries. I work from home a lot. And one of the best perks of that is not having to get up and dressed all the time. I like hanging out in my underwear and I am looking forward to not giving a fuck and letting it all hang out in the privacy of my own home. This is making me nervous for that.
Anyway, yeah, that was awkward.
