So I go to take my former mother-in-law to buy groceries at the Navy commissary today (that's the grocery store on the base) and she finds out that as of tomorrow, it will be closed due to the shutdown. BUT - don't despair, because the Navy Exchange stores will still be open, so if you needed to purchase some brand-name merchandise, tax free, you can! Clothes? Treat yo self. Fragrances? Treat yo self. Fine leather goods? TREAT YO SELF. But groceries, like fresh fruits and veggies and such? NOPE. SHUT THAT SHIT DOWN.

I do approve of the decision to keep the liquor store open, though.
