Saw this on Amazon Prime last night, decided to look into it and — wow! — it was fantastic.

I am a little familiar with Notaro’s work, and have enjoyed the couple bits that I’ve seen her do but I haven’t been compelled to seek out her work. So it was a slow day on Amazon Prime that got me clicking on One Mississippi, which I hadn’t even heard of before (it was released on Sept. 9).

For those familiar with her Live set, wherein she discusses a particularly rough patch in her life, the first episode will feel very familiar but still mines new territory. The six episodes (yes, I watched the whole season in one sitting) were immensely funny, bittersweet and surprising. If you’re looking for something good to watch this weekend, I can’t recommend it enough.
