Anyone have any good advice on studying for the GRE? What worked for you? I'm open to all recommendations that don't involve shelling out $1000 for a class (I think. Unless that's something I really, really, really should be doing.). What's worth it? What's not? Favorite study guide/practice test books? Are there any awesome apps I should look into? (I've downloaded quite a few of the free ones; what apps are worth paying for?) What should I avoid? Are there any tricks I should know to save money or something?

I haven't taken any practice tests yet. My preparation so far has consisted of trying out various apps on my phone and looking at books on Amazon, trying to decide which one(s) to buy. I'm not sure when I'm going to be taking the actual test yet, either. (Can you tell I've just recently decided that I want to go to grad school?)

So yes, any and all tips are appreciated. Oh, and if anyone has any GRE study materials they don't want, I would be happy to take them off your hands...
