This is making the Facebook rounds and I thought that the whole series was awesome. The person who shared it made the point that "this also apply to hispanics" and I think it's pretty much true for anyone of any group the speaker isn't a member of. I also really liked his video on code switching:

I thought the message was great, but I'm totally gonna nitpick his use of the term code switching. Code switching is an accepted part of normal human behavior, which is why emails to professors written in text speak are equal parts frustrating and amusing and why weird tonal shifts seem so jarring. So, code switching when talking to a friend would be A-OK. Trying to adopt a friend's speech patterns and slang while not belonging to the same demographics as the friend? Uh, usually not so much.
