I watch a lot of HGTV because it lets my brain space out and I like seeing pretty homes. Although sometimes the problems they find are really stressful (like when electrical wiring is horribly wrong and dangerous).
I didn’t care for the show Home Town when it started. Pretty much everything looks Craftsman and it’s a very even-keeled show. Not much drama.
And then I thought about how what I dislike most about home renovation shows is people having fits over unexpected costs and getting crabby about things. Which... no one does on Home Town. Something goes wrong or they find a new expense and it’s just like “well, let’s figure that out now.”
