*I remember reading a few weeks ago on Jezebel about victims of domestic partner violence during coronavirus never thinking I’d be in a similar situation.*

**Unfortunately, I had written a longer post that I thought I saved but can’t find it again.**

So without rehashing the whole thing again, over the weekend I was physically assaulted by my father. I was closed-fist punched and bitten by him. He’s almost 80 and weak so other than giving me a headache and a bite mark on my finger, there’s no lasting damage. He been financially abusing my mother for a while and I confronted him about it. It was shocking when he started to become physical. My mother came between us and while I thought it had calmed down, he would leave in his car and come back and yell and threaten to kick me out of the apartment.

I called the police.

He was arrested. I didn’t press charges but being we’re in Texas he was arrested anyway. I left to spend my time with my boyfriend, but his living situation isn’t the best and honestly I’m more comfortable in my apartment. I don’t have anyone I can stay with.

As far as my mother is concerned, I think she’s beyond help. This is all she knows and I doubt she would ever leave him. I am 32 and don’t drive and have recently lost my job because of coronavirus. I was starting to learn how to drive and save up for an apartment, after losing my job, his has put everything to a halt. I will also say that I simply haven’t made good decisions throughout my life and have a large amount of medical and student loan debt.

Everything is still new and shocking. This is my first day back after everything that happened on Friday and my father is back with us after my mother bailed him out.
